Wednesday night was incredible. Foundation Rwanda: An Evening of Food & Fotos was a remarkable event, if I do say so myself…I am so proud to have been part of the team that put the event together – all under the terrific leadership of Jules Shell who co-founded the organization and runs it to this day. She is the only person employed by Foundation Rwanda, but you never would have guessed that from this event. The room looked great, the roster of chefs who not only donated their food, but gave up service to actually ATTEND the event was fantastic, the food was top notch restaurant-quality and the Rock n Roll photos that were donated to the auction were really great.
We raised more money than we have in years past, and that’s the most important part. If you weren’t able to attend, but would like to make a contribution, there are a few ways.
1. You can just go directly to the organization’s website and make a donation. Just click on the image below:
2. Buy a bracelet. I designed and made these for the VIP’s at the event. People liked them so much, that I decided to sell them post-event, in order to raise more money for Foundation Rwanda. Click here to buy one, or two, or fifteen! All proceeds go to the organization.
3. Buy a coloring book. This coloring book helps a child in Rwanda go to school. The beautiful drawings in this coloring book represent the hopes and dreams of children in Rwanda who are struggling to attend school. $30 is a bargain for this wonderfully crafted book, filled with images and thoughts from the kids in Rwanda.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, Happy Passover and Happy Easter. In this festive season, I hope you’ll take some time to give back to people who are less fortunate – whether it’s online, in person or in any other way that you can.
